About Me

hey, i'm evan. i like to write songs and play them for people. i also like garlic, organizing, analyzing and combating oppression, being a healer, building communities (not scenes), thinking about climate change, honesty and open-communication, resistance, empowerment, passion, intensity, cooking spicy food for lots of people, cuddling, punk-rock, labor unions, sustainable collective agriculture, waterfalls, and instruments other than the guitar.below is lots of self-promotional crap for you people who book stuff and want to know who the hell i think i am, or something like that. be sure to check out everyone else in the Riot-Folk! Collective . They rock. We are a collective of radical songwriters and musicians hellbent on MAKING FOLK A THREAT AGAIN.

I do all my own booking, so if you want to set up a show, just e-mail me: [email protected]

.. width="425" height="350" ..Evan Greer got his start playing at open mics and political events in Boston MA. As his popularity grew he began to play up and down the East coast. At 22 years old, he has toured across the United States, Canada, and Europe, and shared stages with performers like Billy Bragg, Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine), Chumbawamba, Charlie King, Emma's Revolution, Pamela Means, Oi Polloi, and The Mammals, as well as speakers including Danny Glover, Tim Robbins and Amy Goodman. In fall of 2005 he spent six weeks on the road with renouned labor singer Anne Feeney .

"Evan Greer is an eloquent and energetic writer. He reminds me of Phil Ochs." --Howard Zinn, author of A People's History of the United States

"Evan feeds off the energy of the crowd, putting some of the punk back into the sound with a raw and passionate performance. Being in the crowd at an acoustic show where the kids genuinely care about the message and dance and sing along with fists in the air in a crowded basement or open performance space, is a whole different type of folk show from the typical coffee house style. It's refreshingly alive and a striking contrast to sitting down and listening to someone singing about their feelings."--Urban Folk, NYC
"Phenomenal activist folk!" --Pacifica Radio KPFA-FM

"Evan's vocals are clear and definitive as he weaves a story around his concise guitar playing!" --WERU-FM Radio, ME
