The Veld
The Veld began in July 04 on the NSW Central Coast with brothers Jake and Simon Dobson, brothers Jacob and Isaac Adele and Daniel Irwin.
Originally named Just For The Night, the band formed just two weeks before playing their first show to a crowd of over 300 people. The overwhelming response they received not only foreshadowed the crowd reactions in shows to come, but reflected upon the fact that front man Jake Dobson was only 13 years old at the time.
From that point it was on! The Veld went on to play over 100 shows in one year as a self-managed, independent band. Including shows with such established acts as Matchbook Romance, Straylight Run, and Parkway Drive.
In late March 2005, The Veld entered the recording studio with engineer Greg Stace to record their first demo CD. The Veld have since signed a distribution deal with Modern Music through SonyBMG with current sales of the demo in excess of 1500 copies.
The Veld re-entered The studio in 2007 to record their debut EP. Entitled "Signs on the Moon" the EP was released April 21st on the drummers very own label, The Audio Army.
