H&K USP

..Once known only to a select few as an "operator specific" weapon, the Heckler & Koch (pronounced Hay-Ler and Coke) USP (Universal Self-loading Pistol) is quickly gaining popularity due to its high quality, reliability, accuracy, and motion picture notoriety, though the recent attention has changed the time tested facts little. Once introduced in 1993, it was not long before the H&K USP was noticed by the same militaries and agencies that relied on H&K for such venerable weapons platforms as the MP5, PSG-1, and G3 rifles (the G36 and UMP were not mass produced until after 1993). Today, the USP can be found in service the world over, carried by American law enforcement duty officers, swat teams, and US Special forces teams to German Law enforcement/military, Various Private Military Foundations, DOD Contractors, and many Executive protection firms. While it has not seen a mass popularity with the sport shooter or home protection shopper due to higher-than-average price, when it comes to firearms you do get what you pay for. The USP stands as one of the members of the "hand gun trifecta" (Comprised of H&K, Sig Sauer, and Kimber, so named for being arguably the top three high quality hand gun manufactures) and will surly take its place in history with other great designs such as the 1911.
