Free Marquee Comments and LayoutsMy name is Paul Mack. My Father, Bill was one of the first bassists during the 50's to use the Fender Precision electric bass playing with Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps (Be Bop A Lula)............. Though I'm versed in both styles, hundred mile an hour slapping and tapping solo's ain't my thang .. I lock onto the groove, all that fancy shit don't make that ass move................... Listening to and playing along with James Brown's music and 70's Funk /Disco ( Yep ,that's right Motherfucker, I said Disco! ) has been one of my biggest influences to date .......................... Though I've always been in Rock/Metal bands, but my heart is in Motown, R&B ....................My basses are a Burgundy Mist 60's reissue Jazz ( GHS Flats ), a Marcus Miller Jazz ( DR Lowriders ), both with Fender 60's Custom Shop pickups, and an Ibanez ATK ( D'Addario nickels )...The StingRay tone with the warmth and balls that the original is missing........Amplification is a Fender Bassman 300 Pro and an Ampeg SVT HLF 4X10 cabinet and my effects ( that I actually use ) consist of a Boss TU-2 Tuner, EBS multi-comp compressor.... and the ones that I seldom use ...Dunlop Bass Wah, Boss PQ-50 and NS-50 half rack Parametric EQ and Noise Suppressor and an old BBE-461 Sonic Maximizer ................. an EBS BassIQ envelope filter is high on my wish list...........that would be a hint! .............................. The most notable bands I've been in are "Forgotten Child" .. "Punisher" .. and "Citizen X"I celebrated 18 years of marriage to my wonderful wife, Jaymi, on the 27th of January 2008. Don't know what I'd do without her. We have 2 children. Brittany, who also dabbles with bass guitar and a son, Anthony who plays guitar.
