I'd like to meet:
SO MANY PEOPLE, so little time...I love meeting people who are in touch with their creativity, artists, musicians, poets, writers, photographers. Kids are cool, too. I usually relate much better with kids as they are really straight-forward. Also, older people usually don't have time for all the crap that gets in the way of truly experiencing human connection. Maybe that's a benefit to getting old; you see what really matters. If you want to see a person's soul, look into their eyes. It's an old cliche', but true, I think.PLEASE TURN PROFILE SONG OFF TO PLAY VIDEO!!!! THANKS

Music:
Every kind, Tupac to Alan Jackson, Dido to Pavarotti, I like most everything. Instrumental, Jazz, Country, Rock, Rap (although the ones with more cursing than music do bore me), to old timey Gospel. Chili Peppers, STP, with a little Pink Floyd, Santana, Led Zeppelin, all the classic rock bands. Did I say METALLICA???? I love the songwriters, too, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Jewel, Billy Joel. (Vienna DOES wait for me, I KNOW IT!!) I also am a huge 3DD fan, like to support the local guys! Love going out to hear music, lots of locals under friends!! There are a few songs that speak directly to me or about me, sort of help say who I am. One is an old country song by Charlie Pride called "I'm Just Me". As far as relationship, there's a song by Dido called "This Land is Mine". Philosophically, Jewel has a song, I think it's called the "Freedom Song". The words "No longer lend your strength to that which you wish to be free from, Feel life with love & bravery and you shall lead a life uncommon" really resonate with me. I am determined to lead that kind of life. I'm in love with the sounds of music, and I can listen to a good band or an accoustic guitar FOREVER!!!! Favorite old guy is Stevie Ray Vaughn, favorite new guys, Muris Varajic, Raj Phanse and Uli Jon Roth, all of whom can be linked to under my friends. I have some incredible musicians who have blessed me with their talent and friendship, please check them out!! My favorite band is Top of the Orange!!!! Go. Listen. (And thanks!!)
Movies:
My all time favorite movies are "What Dreams May Come" & "To Kill A Mockingbird".
Television:
I love, love, LOVE TV on DVD. TV is now for football and cooking shows. We really got into LOST, 24 (Keifer is HOT!!!), Battlestar Gallactica, Firefly & Gilmore Girls last year. Sorry to see "Alias" cancelled (Jennifer Garner is just the cutest thing ever). Love nature documentaries, cooking shows (Rachel Ray is a kindred spirit), & the history channel, Discovery. I don't actually have a TV on the boat, and I havent really missed it!!
Books:
Read A LOT. Avidly, even lol!! All sorts of things, various topics, fiction or non. The dictionary fascinates me, even!! Night-by Elie Wiesel, made me profoundly sad. Love children's literature, favorite is "The Velveteen Rabbit" (the part where he becomes REAL makes me cry every time I read it!), although I am also quite partial to "Hank the Cowdog". I rarely meet a book I don't like!!!
Heroes:
Jesus Christ, Bhudda, Gandhi, Ansel Adams, Dr. Suess, Lucille Ball, Walt Disney, John Muir, Bear Bryant, Bro. Bill Barton and Mrs. Jean Barton, Sharon Osbourne and Nancy Reagan (who personify unconditional love), people who stand beside you when you lose everything and every single person who volunteered, donated, prayed for, or otherwise helped us survive and recover from Hurricane Katrina. My kids are also my heroes. Each one of them is strong, unique, independant, loving and not afraid to follow his or her own path, which is the best compliment a child can give to a parent, in my opinion!!Thanks for stopping by, and remember, in the words of Gandhi, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world".
