MYSTIQUE BIO
DJ Mystique who, as the name suggests, prefers to maintain an air of mysticism, burst onto the Australian drum&bass scene as Perth’s only true lady D&B DJ in 1998. Mystique initially made her name through the illustrious Loaded Dice parties, and the drum&bass fraternity soon caught wind of what was considered a novelty at the time – a female D&B DJ was unheard of locally – she soon proved her worth and has been an established main player ever since. As a result she’s been billed on every major festival touring Australia including Gatecrasher, Ministry Of Sound, Two tribes, Vibes On A Summer’s Day, plus Science Fiction, Delirious, Sonik and Global, not to mention touring visits across Australia to events including the Midori Winter Chill and Enchanted Festivals in Adelaide plus a guest appearance for the Haunted crew in Sydney. Her Perth-based work includes (and has included) regular guest appearances at Trafik, Base101, Roller, Bass Files, Resolution, Northern Jungle, XS Productions, Drum Club, MFI, Point Of View, Revolution and earned her residencies at Tonic, ATM Sessions and The Nine. She also ran Australia and New Zealand’s own version of ATM Magazine, namely ATM Oceanic in 2003. She was a previous winner of the PDMA’s best female DJ category in 2003/2004/2005/2006 and was also in the top 3 best D&B Dj’s for 2004.
Mystique also co-hosts 'Breakout' on RTRFM 92.1, Perth's premier Drum&Bass radio show every Saturday night between 11pm – 1am with Shockone, Osiris, Muller and Guests.
