Kane Alexander a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts is a classically trained singer.
Equally at home in the genres of classical, jazz, big band and pop, he has toured Australia with the Australian Philharmonic and with Il Divo and his lead roles on the Australian stage include Bobby Strong in Melbourne Theatre Company's Urinetown (for which he was nominated for a Helpmann Award), Claude in the Australian production of Hair, Willard in Footloose (Mo Award nominee), the Scarecrow in the Sydney season of The Wizard of Oz and Billy Crocker in Penguins. Only Heaven Knows and the tenth anniversary production of Les Miserables. In the US he has appeared in Elegies and An Evening with Jerry Herman.
In 2000 he took his cabaret show to New York, appearing at the Firebird Cafe, the Algonquin Oak Room and at Rupert Murdoch's 70th birthday party. In the 2001 New York Caberet Award he was name Best New Voice in the Theatermainia Cabaret list, and won the BISTRO and MAC Awards for Most Outstanding Debut.
Onstage today, Kane has transformed into a sensual and roguish performer. He explains, "I feel at home on the stage. I love performing live. That's what I grew up doing. Live is where I express myself. You get one shot to get that note or phrase just right. I learned from playing those intimate jazz clubs in New York, the incredible communion between you and the audience."
His many television appearances include Good Morning Australia, In Melbourne Tonight and Channel 9's Abbamania special, and he was a finalist in the Arts section of the 2001 Young Australian of the Year Awards.
Kane has a debut album that has a collection of classical, pop, jazz and Latin songs that are both unique and epich. The album has been recorded in London and Stockholm in January 2006. Produced by Quiz & Larossi (Il Divo, Westlife), Anders Bagge (Madonna, Enrique Iglesias, Destiny’s Child), Tom Nichols (Kylie).
All tracks accompanied by the Stockholm Symphony Orchestra except 'Crying'. Kane co wrote the opening track 'Escape' and the closing track 'Breathe'. Tina Arena duets with Kane on 'Timeless' – a stunning power ballad that showcases both their voices beautifully.
This album has 7 tracks sung in English and 4 tracks sung in Italian.
