"Bye WCH" is as I was about to leave Oberlin, in Warner Concert Hall - I put a CD in the recorder and played.
The "Quartet" is Alex Christie (laptop, left channel), Mika Hayashi Ebbesen (cello, center), Benn Purcell (bass, center), and me (laptop and clarinet, right channel). Totally improvised.
I play lots of kinds of music other than those represented here - I'm open to just about anything, and maybe when I have better recordings of different things, they'll go up here!
Hi. Thanks for visiting. I'm getting more into dance... playing with dancers, that is, and making music, and trying to connect with whatever it is that keeps me coming back and is part of what makes the world happen.
Mostly what I'm trying to say is that I feel like I'm soaring right now - and I want to hold on to that. [I wrote that sentence last January, and although it may or may not be true at the moment, it's something to aspire to. I wrote it when I was surrounded by and working with completely inspiring people. I like to be inspired by my friends and the people around me.]
I just graduated from Oberlin and already miss it sorely (there are a lot of inspiring people there). I'm in Boston now for the Contemporary Improv program at NEC. There's no place like h... Oberlin.
Instruments: clarinets, laptop/electronics, some accordion, some saxophone
