MUSIC. Writing, art, sewing, herbalism, dancing, astronomy, DJing. Fun stuff with cool people. Being a dork.
People who are willing to inspire me. I want more vital, interesting, and selfless people in my life. I want muses and dreamers, writers and artists, schemers and givers.
The strangest, most extensive and eclectic mix of music is at my fingertips. I love Goth/Industrial, Folk, Early, and Rock music... and music especially of an electronic nature. I love female vocals... hell, I love vocals, as long as they're good ones. Some things I've been listening to lately: In Tenebris, Monica Richards, This Ascension, The Damned, Virgin Prunes, Faith and The Muse, De/Vision, The Brickbats, The Brides, The Vanishing, Collide, Unto Ashes, Sophya, Pixies, Gary Numan, Modern English, Venus Hum, Ladytron, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, New Model Army, In Tenebris, Electric Six, Ego Likeness, Terminal Ready, blah blah blah, the list goes on forever.
I like a wide variety of movies. I'm a science fiction junkie, and I like horror and the sappy goffick movies too. If it has sass and style, I'll probably like it. I'm a fan of Wong Kar-Wei and Tim Burton, and a score of goofy and/or excellent films including Buckaroo Banzai, Blade Runner, Nightmare Before Christmas, Harold And Maude, Dangerous Liasons, Chungking Express... many many more. Loads of bad horror and Sci-Fi.
I don't watch much TV. LOST, old Star Trek and other science fiction tv shows. I prefer movies, when I bother to watch TV.
Everything by Charles De Lint, Connie Willis, Jane Yolen, Patrica McKilip, Robert Holdstock... Beggars In Spain by Nancy Kress. Cosmos by Carl Sagan. Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. The Mabinogion. Decent historical fiction, imaginitive fantasy and people-oriented science fiction.
People who GET STUFF DONE. Oscar Wilde. My Grandmother. [heh. that's funny, to put them side by side.] Carl Sagan. Every Astronaut that's dared to leave the atmosphere of the Earth. Ron Cobb. You.
