ALWAYS LOVING JAH The Sound Of Macerata was officially born in 2003, founded by Ricky a.k.a DonRick. Ricky started to listen to hip hop music very early, at the age of 14. USA artists like Wu-Tang Clan, Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Dree,EPMD and italian artists like OTR, Sangue Misto, La Famiglia, Neffa were his favorite ones. In this time Ricky joined a local H-H and writing crew longside his homeboy H-H fada Astorone, and he met Ganjiskhan Mc & Torpedo (now known as URBAN PUSHER or CLICK DEI VENEREI, real friends and big artists able to sing on hip hop, reggae, bashment and D&B instrumentals). In 2002 Ricky left his hometown San Severino to go to study at university, and he arrived into Perugia city. Here through famous soundsystems I-Shence and BashFire Int. Ricky discovered reggae-dancehall music. It was love at first sight. So Ricky decided to found his own bashment crew based inna Macerata (where there wasn't a dancehallsound yet), supported by some reggae fanatics friends, as known as Macerata Countryside Massive. He started collecting his first jamaican 7's, cutting duplates and playing all around Marche area (San Severino, Macerata, San Benedetto, Senigallia, Ancona, Civitanova, Matelica etc. etc.)... After several dancehalls as one-man sound, Leo (a long time 360° black music records collector, from ska to motown) joined the soundystem. Several dancehalls later,(longside some friends like Click Dei Venerei/Urban Pusher from Macerata, Caligula from Ancona, Muccigna & Rude Massive from San Benedetto, Burnig Melody from Pesaro, Hotta Faya from Falconara,Social Machine & Undertown from Jesi, I-Shence & Bashfire real Ricky's reggae fada from Perugia, PureLove from Pescara, Red Storm from Udine, BoomChilom from Padova, Brusco & Roots In The Sky Band) the Sound Of Macerata inna full crew (Ricky pon di mic & Leo at the turntables) continues to promote dancehall all around Marche, playing all kinds of jamaican music, from ska to the freshest dancehall tunes.
