I collect and raise Poison Arrow frogs, and tropical tree frogs. I also collect and raise live Hard and soft coral, and giant clams. My house is more a zoo than a house. The noise my lord the noise it is like living in a 1930’s jungle move soundtrack. I also collect Rickenbacker guitars. I love Rickys. I illustrate, paint, and sculpt that is my reason for being, and I am dammed good at it. When I get off my ass I will post some examples of what I clam I am so good at. I also have a bad habit of supporting the local music scene, but more on that in the music category. Oh yeah, my favorite word in the English language is monkey! I really like saying monkey, and they are rather ferry and they like to through things what could be better.
Anyone intellectually, or optically stimulating, A muse, people to get in trouble with, or at least blame me for the trouble they are in. Our tiny little microcosm needs further exploration and I am looking for volunteers to help with the deforestation. For me there are two categories of music. The music I use as the sound track to my existence, and the music I go to see, experience, and feel, and the two rarely mix. The first category primarily consists of first and foremost Frank Zappa, more the mothers of invention, and instrumental period of his career, but I count the other stuff too, and not just his music, but every thing about him. The small Faces, the MC5 I worship the MC5. Curtis Mayfield, Captain Beefhart, Jimi Hendrix, Genesis the Peter Gabriel years not the radio crap with Phil Collins in the lead role one of my least favorite bands that ever recorded. Eric Dolphy, Rolland Kirk, Ornet Collmen, the Creation, the Move, the Who, British phychedelia circa 1966 thru 1969, pre dark side of the moon Pink Floyd who where the kings of the for mentioned British scene, Family, T-Rexx, Thin Lizzy, the James Gang, the Rolling Stones especially the 1967 thru 1974 years, the Cream, the Clash, the Jefferson Airplane, the first four Chicago records the rest are fare to plastic for my taste. King Crimson, the Nice, Jethro Tull, Peter Tosh, Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament Funkadelic, the Ohio Players, James Brown. The second category is live music. I love, love, love going to show’s. Everyone has seen me at one place or another. I have become that creepy old guy that used to be at all the shows when I was younger. Now it is me. There is a magical high that comes from a night when everything comes together. I have had several of those evenings, and I will be chasing that high until the day I leave this existence. I prefer local shows to prepackaged industry sponsored, leave no money left unplundered traveling rock and roll circus’s that invade sports arenas, and stadiums. They can be great fun, but they tend not to have the desperate energy, unrestrained drive, and balls out determination that a local just trying to do there thing show can have.
