About Me

Stephanie M. Lawson has been writing songs and playing music almost half of her life. Her songs are clearly written from life's experiences...the music comes from within...having a balance of both time treasured folk rock and more recent acoustic styles. Stephanie's music and delivery have a familiar, comfortable feel, almost like slipping on your favorite old pair of jeans.Born and raised in the North Georgia mountains, Stephanie moved to Charleston, SC and earned a degree in Baking/Pastry Art Design from the prestigious Johnson and Wales University of Culinary Arts. She currently lives in Columbia, SC and is performing in small, intimate venues as she diligently works on her first album.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: you're lookin at her
Influences: My father is my biggest influence...had it not been for him, I probably would have never had the drive and patience to learn to play my music. Also, as crappy as it sounds..I'm thankful for all the shitty luck I've had in my life (uh hu you know it!) because without all of the heartache and bad times--the songs I've written would have never surfaced. Some other influences include Nanci Griffith, Patti Rothberg, The Murmurs...and then a gazillion bands that made me love music the way that I do (The Beatles being a very important factor). The end.
Sounds Like: oh you know...that one girl!
