I have felt the cold steel blade of a machete across my cheek and my scars
both the scars that sit on the top of my skin like raindrops on a freshly paved street
and the scars that refuse to give in like that one dandelion pushing its way up out of the concrete well
I send money that I cannot afford to help my father
who, because of his cancer, is losing his vision
and like all fathers is too proud to face it

People havent always treated me very nicely and that has had a major impact on my self esteem and the way I present myself to others.
I find it hard to have any amount of sympathy for others regardless of the situation as I have faced more obstacles than most people have even thought about and I dont believe that sympathy really does anything but encourage you to stay in the situation youre in. Therefore, I tend to distance myself from those who want to be sympathetic for my situations. My pain has made me who I am today and I thank God for that.
I dont take compliments well and typically follow them up by something sarcastic and mean, its because I dont usually believe the compliments Im given go beyond a superficial basis and typically are based on things that have no relation to who I am as a person.
I dont anticipate a major change at any point in the near future. You will either tolerate me or you will not.
