Riviera F was formed by Alexa Marlen and Kairo Sin, after meeting at a London art college. Almost immediately the band played their first ever gig on the BBC’s John Peel legendary Radio One show.
They then moved on to get signed to Nick Rhodes and Steven Duffy’s label Tape Modern, releasing their debut EP International Lover. The EP was also produced by Nick Rhodes and the International Lover video, directed by Matt Amato and starring Hollywood stud Billy Zane, was featured in Hollywood’s Resfest film festival, alongside videos from The Faint, and the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s.
Riviera F’s first US release Now We’ve Got Europe, is out on Kinetic Media (home to Hong Kong Counterfeit, Soviet, Total Machina, Mount Sims).
They have played and DJed alongside artists such as Ellen Allien ,Hot Chip, Ladytron, Client, Radioactive Man and Princess Julia, and toured extensively in England, Scotland, Holland, Finland, Sweden, Italy, Hungary, Croatia and Spain.
The band’s music has been featured on Fashion TV, and their music was used for Dolce & Gabbana catwalk shows and Apollo Braun’s NY fashion week show. The band have also been Djing and running their own club nights in London, including How To Pick Up Girls, Club Dollar , and the current Now We’ve Got Europe at Old Street’s 3 Blind Mice.
Riviera F’s debut album Another City, Another Plan will be released later this year.
