Hi,
My name's Dakota. I'm just a guy that likes to sing, and I've been told that I can, although you can't tell from the song you're listening to.
This Myspace page is dedicated to only one purpose...too promote a song I've been waiting 10 years to record.
I wrote Erin's Song when my daughter was about 2 1/2 - 3 years old. Erin is my one and only daughter, she's the love of my life and the only person I've ever openly cried over. She just turned 13 on Christmas Eve '06.
As I said before, I've been waiting ten years to get this song, this love ballad, recorded. Luckily, I recently became good friends with a guy who just happens to be a part time music producer. He basically did this for me for free and I kinda rushed him because I wanted to give a copy of it to my daughter for her birthday.
I don't have a band and he's no musician so we had to rework the song quite a bit. The song you're listening to...or just finished, only has a reasonable resemblance to the way I've been singing it since Erin was three. We reworked it as I did the vocals so I was doing it cold. It was a lot like singing a song I'd never practiced. So I apologize for the seeming lack of singing ability on my part.
Please just listen to the words. My heart is in those words.
I believe "Erin's Song" has the potential to make to the big. I don't have any monetary motives for promoting it...although I won't refuse a royalty check :) ...I'm doing this for, let's just say love and passion. Erin is both to me and the song has become a passion over the last 10 years.
If you like the song, please recommend this page to others. Maybe it will catch the attention of the right people, be re-recorded properly, Erin will hear it on the radio and a dream can be fulfilled. Btw, I don't even care who records it...it doesn't have to be me. As much as I would love a singing career, I really just want see this song recorded...by anyone that can do it justice.
