Photobucket AlbumIn brief, I am a very open-hearted person and very much free-minded...and, of course fun-loving. Apart for trust, I value each and everybody's emotions & sentiments, that what's make me popular in my present surroundings. Ok..now here I present myself to u in a bit more detail....I am the only child of my parents..born and brought up in an industrial town called Haldia near Calcutta in the eastern part of India...even though Haldia is an industrial town, but being a port town as well, i have spent my childhood in a healthy environment...its a lovely town and there r pretty good picnic spots over there....i did my schooling over there....and after that I went on to join one of the premier engineering institutes in the World - the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and i owe that to my parents for helping me achieve that ....after my graduation in 2002, i immediately joined one of the leading gas companies in India..GAIL (India) Limited..and I am presently posted in the state of Madhya Pradesh in the central part of India..and working here since then. Apart from my professional side, I am a musician as well - since my childhood, I have always wanted to learn playing the guitar, but my parents were too strict on my studies to let me pursue that..so, immediately after i joined IIT, i started learning the guitar...i am almost a self-taught guitar player, but of course used to take guidance from other senior guitar players in my institute...i was so passionate about learning it, that i used to practice playing 12 hrs at a stretch when i had the time. Apart from learning it, I wanted to nurture the musical sense in me so that my sound turns out to be something very unique...and i am a bit successful in doing that - coz i learnt to play from the very bottom of my heart. Anyway...my greatest guitar hero Dave Gilmour (the lead vocalist & guitarist of Pink Floyd)...i generally like rocknroll of the 60's & the 70's - Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits, The Police, CCR, The Beatles, Eagles, Deep Purple, Def Leppard, Eric Clapton, John Denver, R.E.M., Simon Garfunkel, The Doors...to name a few. :) ...finally, before graduating from IIT, i had a band of my own and used to play in college-fests. After joining my 1st job, i don't have the time to start a band of my own...but i do play these days and i have been recently thinking about taking some advanced guitar lessons to further my guitar-skills. Well, that's enough of music...maybe i have written a lot more than i should..lol....but, opening myself up here is has been nice so far :) So, now u can surely guess that music is one of my favorite pass-times these days...well apart from that i am a pet-lover - i have 2 dogs, named 'lucy' and her daughter 'tushy'...welll, lucy is no Labrador or some other renowned breed...she is a daughter of a stray dog...coz, i just love dogs and not just dogs of good breeds...their loyalty, their cute love and their cute mischiefs and the way they love me are all the things that only matter to me....and at times i think if everybody went for a dog of good breed, then where would these stray dogs go...i love them and they love me...that's more than enough for me to give anybody an explanation about why am i keeping stray dogs. To be true, I love nature and surely all the children of nature, which comprises mainly of animals...i like almost all animals...and my dream is to keep a cub as my pet - i really get jealous when i see all those scientists in Discovery and NGC channel playing with cubs and fondling them...lol...welll, i really wish i could do that one day ....oh yes, i forgot to mention, my parents also love pets...they have 2 cats and a dog at their place...ya, we all love animals and respect them...and for them, i do run an animal-shelter which i love working for........and when, I am not playing with my lucy and tushy, i solve crosswords (i have been doing this almost every day for the last 7-8 yrs...in fact i feel like my day is incomplete without it) or go out on long rides on my bike..i love bikes more than cars...but, when it's a good car, i love to drive it as well...beware, i am a pretty fast driver, but i am not rash..lol...i am a good sportsperson as well...i have excelled in every sport i have played...but i have achieved the most in table-tennis...i was pretty well-known player in the state table-tennis circuit...and, maybe if i hadn't excelled in my academics, i would have been a professional table-tennis player by now...but, i still play these days for my company (employer) in a number of regional events...apart from table-tennis, i am a good badminton player which i was made to realize by a very good player who once thought that i have been thru lot of coaching in badminton to play this well..but he was very much astonished to later know that i didn't have a single hour of coaching in badminton....i could do this, coz i knew that indoor games like badminton, tennis, table-tennis are all about your footwork...if u keep ur footwork good, the rest will follow with absolute ease..so, whenever i used to watch anybody good playing, the most important thing that i used to notice is his footwork..and engraved it in my mind so that when i play i can follow that...and of course this did help me.....ok, just a friendly reminder: plz don't get me wrong here - i am not trying to act smart and boast of myself, but just opening myself up to everybody out there... :) Ok, now...as a reader, i mostly like to read real-life stories...and of course some detective novels as well - i used to read a lot of detective stories until my days in college...but, since then i have started to gain more interest in real life happenings and stories...and it's almost the same with movies and theatres...though i am not much of a movie-buff, but i like watching some out-of-the-box movies like the ones I have mentioned in the "movies" section. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwww.......this has been a pretty long one...in fact, i have never ever written abt myself this long....lol.....Welllll...that’s only a miniature part of me...if my brief introduction impresses u, please write back soon.
