When I was about five years old my dad set me on his lap and started showing me how to play basic chords on his old beat up guitar. I would play on and off depending on my attention span for the next ten years. I started becoming obsessed with guitar when I was entering my teen years sometimes practicing for eight to ten hours a day! Yes I was a certified junkie! I was trying my best to fit in to the "SHRAPNEL" guitar players club back then. I was mostly playing in progressive metal bands and had some commercial success with the band DREEMWICH. It was around 1991 when I met two of the most influential musicians and best friends any guy could ever have, JEFF DODD and GEORGE FLUKE. Jeff introduced me to the music of MICHAEL HEDGES and I was never the same after that! I began focusing all my gifts towards the acoustic guitar and all that it had to offer. After woodshedding for awhile Jeff, George, and myself formed the band SOUNDESCAPE. We focused on creating instrumental music with acoustic guitar, bass, and drums. MICHAEL MANRING said that "SOUNDESCAPE has a very cool sound and its a pleasure to hear music with such attention to dynamics, interaction, and musicality. I think they have a unique sound that deserves to be heard." How cool is that!! Presently I am working on a solo recordng of acoustic guitar and an electric shredfest project.
