About Me

Hello there. My name is Peter Awesome. I'm glad you took the time to "stumble" onto my page. In the following paragraphs, I will outline just a few details about myself so you fine people can come even closer to understanding the awesome being that is "me." Okay then, let's start.
I was born in New York City. I sometimes forget which borough I was born in, because I just do, but for right now, it's between Manhatten and Brooklyn. Anyway, I lived in New York for the first 2 years of my life, and then made a move all the way to the West Coast to Manhatten Beach, California, living their until I was either 6 or 7, and then making one final move to Redondo Beach, California, which is where I currently call home.
I currently attend San Jose State University. I know, it's quite far from home. I chose to go here because of their film program, which I'll detail more in a bit. San Jose is a pretty cool place. The San Jose Improv is just a few blocks off campus, so I don't have to go far for some good comedy. Of course, there is no place like home, and I try to make a visit when I can.
I am a film major in SJSU's school of Radio, Television, and Film (RTVF). I have been around film ever since I was born. My father and mother both worked in the film and TV industries, my grandmother (on my father's side) worked in film, and my dad's sister works in film. My dad continues to work, currently holding the position of First Assistant Director on the TV show "House, M.D.", which is awesome. So, like I said, I've been around film and TV so much. It's pretty much a constant part of my life. Right now, my two main interests are film editing and camera work.
If you can't tell, I like ska. I like it a lot. I probably discovered it in a similar way to how most people discover it, I heard it somewhere when I was young, and had no idea what it was, but I liked it. I think the first time I heard it (or really gave notice to hearing it) was in the movie BASEketball (Reel Big Fish). Then, in late 2003-early 2004, while walking out of ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney, I noticed a big crowd of people watching this band with horns. They were Suburban Legends. My first ska show came shortly after that, a benefit show called Save Eric! which had some major bands on it, including Reel Big Fish, Suburban Legends, The Aquabats, and Starpool. Ska is now my favorite music, and I truly believe I'll never stop listening to it. I try to go to a show whenever possible, and I have made so many friends by meeting people at shows.
Speaking of music, I play guitar and write. I am currently working on something of a solo career (under the name Peter Awesome,,), and even have a music page (although it doesn't have anything good on it yet). I am really passionate about it, and I hope to start playing very soon. I'm also considering taking up trombone.
In addition to going to shows all the time, I do photography. Live concert photography is something I really like to do, and I love helping out the scene as much as I can. I have mostly taken photos for bands I'm friends with, like The Un-Fun Slide, Minus Vince, The Shenanigans, Chase Long Beach, and others. I hope to soon get a professional digital camera, and maybe even make my photography something I actually do. I have a MySpace Photo Page and a Photobucket account. Go check them out.
I think there will be more to come.
Thank you all for attending. There are cupcakes and punch in the lobby.

I sing in this video! About halfway through, Klemm hands me the mic and let's me sing a line from their new song "Girlfriend's Pretty". I felt so cool. People shook my hand!
Kudos to my good friend Chamrawk!

My favorite band is Reel Big Fish. I hope to hear them perform all of their songs live before they don't perform anymore. I started keeping tabs. Here is the list so far, first arranged by Album, then arranged by Name for their covers and other songs. For their song "S.R.", I will list all the versions that I've heard. Songs that I've heard them play live have an asterisk.
