Hailing from Riverside, CA, The Guilty Parties, founded by current members Josh Franklin, James Baylor, and John Martinez, in the Fall of 2002, started their career of playing shows January of 2003. From Martin Luther King Jr Holiday parades, to parties, to small clubs and coffee shops to renowned venues such as The Whiskey Au Go Go, The Key Club, Casino Morongo, The Knitting Factory, Chain Reaction, BB King's Blues Club in LA as well as a recently completed self-funded western US tour that brought them through 10 states. Their hard work gradually took them from a garage band up to headlining and selling out large show events at world renowned venues such as BB King's Blues Club in LA. Bands they have shared the stage with include Voodoo Glowskulls, the Skeletones, The Suicide Machines, The Phenomenauts, Buck-O-Nine, The Know How, Bullets To Broadway, the Debonaires, Monkey, Fishbone, the Aggrolites, Chris Murray, The Know How, I voted for Kodos, Suburban Legends, the Forces of Evil, MC Lars, The Toasters, Starpool, The English Beat, Metal Skool and Change Up (from Japan).
The Guilty Parties play a very wide range of musical styles and have many musical influences, and have even begun influencing many other bands themselves. From smooth reggae, to Punk Rock, to third wave and traditional ska, to funk, to indie rock, jazz, hip hop, The Guilty Parties taste good for every occasion. The new music the band has been producing is their own creative style that has been described as smooth-sounding, melodic, catchy vocals and relevant lyrics backed by a big band horn section, up-tempo rock and blues guitars, melodic basslines, and a crisp drum foundation of interesting rhythms and more melodic ideas. The Guilty Parties click as individuals and musicians, and it is an exciting experience to see their great talents come together with such lively passion on stage.
