A Windhoek resident who is part of Township Productions , an actress, musician and, most of all, a poet, spoke to The Weekender recently regarding her choice of career. Being a poet in Namaibia is not something often considered a career, but Warner is fast disproving that perception. As opening act for the recent show 'Return Of The Comedy King' at the Warehouse Theatre in Windhoek, Warner, accompanied by guitarist Thomas Swartz, displayed her talents to entertain the crowd and set the mood for the main performance.
On stage and while reciting her poetry, some set to music, it is easily believable that she has done recitations for State House and major corporates such as Namdeb. She works on the Red Cross/NBC radio drama 'Soul City', presents training workshops in theatre for development, promotes young artists like gold-medal-winning singer Percival Ringquest and is recording her first album to feature the hit 'GoldenCoin', all while compiling her first volume of poetry for publication. Still to her, "it doesn't seem like I'm busy enough" (...)
Warner's dream, since the age of 14, is to create a hospice, a home environment for children with serious long-termillnesses. It's an expensive dream, but where her new found energy and long-standing devotion to her art, she intends to use her words to make it happen.

When others were trying to make a mark as singers in Namibia, Christi chose to join the team responsible for giving music a space in Namibia. She is welknown for her role as presenter & scriptwriter for the television programme (Soul Makhosa) which gave Namibian musicians a platform to show case their video's on television...
She then went on and helped launch the first ever Namibian Music Awards (Sanlam Namibia Music Awards), another successful journey for the recognition of Namibian music.
Another big contribution for her is when she helped raise funds for Percival Rinquest - 14 year old singer from Walvis Bay - to compete in the World Championships of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles/USA where he won two gold medals for his act...
Christi is a star with a heart and she follows this through in her lyrics or rather her poetic thoughts as she strongly believes she is - a poet!
