I've been teaching my brother to play for about a year now. Not only is he great moral support but he's also more than willing to play until his fingers bleed. Kurt is the better picker of the two of us and maybe one day my dear younger brother will end up being my lead guitarist. Hey, stranger things have happened. He's also recently bought himself a drum kit and i firmly believe he could be one of the best due to the fact that he's kind of a spaz. in a good way though!
Influences: The Who, The Rolling Stones, Spirit, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, The Doors, CCR, Bob Seger, The Kinks, Jimi Hendrix, The Yardbirds, B.T.O, Loverboy, Trooper, Streetheart, David Bowie...
Honestly there's too many bands out there to name them all. I was raised on Classic Rock and it's still the main genre of music I listen to today. There are so many stories, so many interesting tid bits about music of the Classic Rock time. When Rock 'n Roll was a new thing... people were exploring and pushing boundries. It was such an exciting time.
My only regret is that I wasn't around during such times. To have been a part of Woodstock, to have seen The Who perform on Rolling Stones Circus, The Isle of Wight concert... all these things I wish I could have been a part of. But all I have is the music and if that's all I get out of the deal... I consider myself very lucky indeed.
I have many musical heros like John Lennon, Keith Moon, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, and all the other musicians that not only changed music but changed the world, touched our lives and left before their time.
but most importantly, my parents are my biggest heroes.
The Who || Sparks (Woodstock 1969)
This clip will never leave my site because I never grow tired of watching the boys give it their all.
The Kinks || Sunny Afternoon
One of my favorite songs from this band and since it's summer here in Canada it seems fitting.
Kris Kristofferson || Live in Austin
Kris is really one of the major reasons why I picked up a guitar in the first place. He's a master storyteller and each and every one of his songs touch me in a place that a lot of other music doesn't even come close to. He's got such a way with words that I'm surprised it took me this long to find a clip of him. I saw him live last summer at the Calgary Folk Fest. It was just him, his guitar and about 10 thousand friends. Kris' pressence, his spirit is something you will never forget. And his music will live forever.
Pete Townshend || Let My Love Open The Door
You can't get away from the guy on this site so don't even try. This song makes me smile... well okay Pete makes me smile and I hope he makes you smile too!
