Truth, Sin and Believe, reviewed by Jeff Collins
"If you like good old fashioned rock, then you’ll love The Crow Jail Alley.
With their gruff vocals and soaring guitars, the band could easily hail from Seattle, but this four piece are all Italian.
Their love of the music shines through strongly as they kick off with the high paced Master Of Ceremonies. A quick drum roll and the song launches into a relentless grunge-rock groove, which has an hypnotic quality.
Then comes a gear change, as a more gentle, bluesy guitar riff opens The Things You Can’t Say. The chorus is pure Pearl Jam and draws you in as the song steps up a notch anchored by Fabio Sant’s terrific bass playing.
Halfway through Andrea Mauro’s guitar solo is a delight to hear as he spars with drummer Giovanni Francescon.
I Can Lose My Soul wonderfully showcases Fabio Carpenedo’s deep and power vocals with the band following his lead at every turn.
It features a wonder bass solo by Sant as Andrea Mauro’s guitar scrubs the song’s catchy hook-line underneath.
This is the stand-out track of the EP and its worth buying for this song alone.
Yet Truth, Sin and Believe is consistently excellent.
Track four Away takes the tone way down and is a real blues ballad straight out of the mould of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
The EP ends on another high with the delicious, southern rock feel of Back To Devil’s Land.
With it’s Ry Cooder on acid opening, followed by some great hard rocking blues.
The Crow Jail Alley managed to capture a wonderful live feel to their studio recordings giving the CD a powerful ‘in your face’ feel.
Great tunes and great musicianship, we’ll be hearing more from this band I’ve no doubt."

Truth Sin and Believe reviewed on October issue of FINNISH BLUESNEWS:
"From Italy comes a four piece band The Crow Jail Alley and their debut EP ’Truth Sin And Believe’.
This is one band that deserves to have a bright future, more ’Classic Rock’ than blues, but with the underlying blues feel.
The five track EP starts off with ’Master of Ceremonies’ a great vehicle for the voice of Fabio Carpenendo and some wonderful guitar from Andrea Mauro.
’The Things You Can’t Say’ has a harder edge to it, with a nice guitar solo.
The ’slow’ song and for me the best of the five is ’Away’ it showcases what a great voice Fabio has and there is an incredible guitar solo.
All the songs were written by the band, full of energy and ghusto..."

Imagine for a moment a cross road where the spirit of the Seattle-sound meets the taste of the great south.
Imagine a hoarse voice, a hard bluesy guitar raised up form the southern mud, an old-school walking bass and a powerful stoned drumming.
That’s what you’ll get with Crow Jail Alley.
Born form the energy sprunged by the meeting among Fabio Carpenedo (vocals), Andrea Mauro (guitar), Fabio Sant (bass) and Rossano Asquini(drums), this young quartet provides a musical bridge between 1969 and 2007, using a personal way to describe truth, sins and believes of their own generation.
The result is an intense and exciting live set where an emotional song-writing meets a savage jam-band attitude, able to drive the audience along the tiny line between anger and sweetness to the land of Crow Jail Alley.
