About Me

I'm a goal-oriented, driven person committed to fulfilling my purpose on this earth, in both academia and morality. I am currently working on my PhD in Nursing, focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention among minority women. Sometimes I can live in my "own little world", but I have begun to think and act in broader terms. This world is far too complex for us to think that we are here just for ourselves. For this reason, we ought to live life to the fullest, keeping in mind that we all have objectives to meet, obstacles to overcome, and our own personal mark to make in this world.

My Interests

My interests include reading research and biblical literature, involving myself in organizational activities, and surrounding myself with good friends and good people. I also like to ballroom dance in my spare time. Something that I've never done that I have wanted to do for years is go to the opera. My sister surprised me with front row tickets to an Italian opera in Memphis in January. See my blog about the opera for more info.

I'd like to meet:

People who are also goal-oriented (for casual friendships), people who are spiritually-minded (for enlightening conversation), and professionals with similar research interests (for networking purposes). Always be willing to try new things. You never know how the experience may broaden your horizons, and you can look back on your life and smile with satisfaction!

Music:

I enjoy jazz, neo-soul, rhythm and blues, and some classical music when I need to relax. Unknown to some, classical music can be very soothing.
