Toronto based Jay-T and Slimmstarr known as Frozen State are the latest R&B/Hip Hop act to hit the Canadian market. The duo were born in Montreal and raised in Toronto, as well as in North Carolina. Living in various countries, allowed the two brothers to embrace several music cultures which enabled them to develop and craft their own distinct sound. Both Jay-T and Slimmstarr discovered their passion for music while they were both in their teens. Creating, writing and having produced their own original masterpieces by the age of twenty. In the summer of 2004, Frozen State recorded their first seven song self titled cd. In 2005, they released their first single to Canadian radio to rave reviews. Having a career in music is their life long goal. Their second album is scheduled to be released in early 2006. Their influences include several well known acts such as: Bone thugs-n-harmony, 2pac, Talib Kweli and KRS-One just to name a few. Frozen State recently signed on to Danie Cortese Entertainment Inc. An Internationally renowned corporation recognized for representing several Emmy Nominees.
