Looking For That Sound

About Me

Hey ya'll, Leavin' the single life behind and movin' to Texas. Yes, I am getting married this November to a beautiful singer/ composer from Houston named Sheena. Looking forward to getting out of Hoosierville and on to the big city! To know Tim Doorn is to know a dude that is laid back, groovy, always has a song, and has jokes. I love playing the trumpet as a form of worship to my God and gig conferences and events every time I get a chance. My trade is furniture/ cabinetmaking and kitchen installations. In spreading the Good News; I'm part of KINGSWAY FELLOWSHIP INTL www.kingswayfellowship.org ~~ And part of CHRIST FOR INDIA www.christforindia.org ~~ And finally, hanging with some real deserving musicians as an endorsing artist for NEW YORK TRUMPET COMPANY www.newyorktrumpetcompany.com ~~~~"Music is a Voice of God." the late great Billy Preston~~ PEACE...

Music:

I'm always looking for and listening to a variety of music styles. Bass players rule! Doesn't get much better than acoustic jazz in an intimate setting. I love Gospel music. The phrasing rhythm patterns and multiple key changes are amazing even if off the cuff. Worship gets my heart. Jazz wraps around my mind. Good ole blues, yeah, the sweet sweet blues, soul, rock, and funk oldies really get me rollin'. How much more when it lifts up my Lord. ~~The sound of the trumpet pierces the realms of heaven yet can touch the soft spot in your heart~~

Movies:

A few of my favorites: The Blues Brothers, Last of the Mohicans, Time Bandits, Blazing Saddles, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Kelly's Heroes, Five Heartbeats, Romancing the Stone, Star Wars

Television:

Futurama, Simpsons, Robot Chicken

Books:

The Word

MY DAD! My partners Solomon, Abe, Gideon, and Welly in the Philippines doing so much for the kids. Bishop Tudor Bismark my friend and by far the greatest preacher on the planet. Papa Olangi in the Congo. Tony Robertson powerhouse on the sax, a guy that boldly walks in the presence of Kings. Phil Driscoll set the standard for Christian trumpet players. Thanks Phil, it took us years to live that down (ha!)
