About Me

born 1949. started drumming aged 15. joined first band "the stuntmen" in 1965, mainly sixtieth pop and beat music. from 1971 on, drumming member of "wallenstein", a german classic rock band with cult status. left the group in 1974, after meeting unusual musicians (tangerine dream, klaus schulze, manuel goettsching) from Berlin, that mainly used electronic equipment to express themselves. worldwide first drummer, that got thrilled, according sequencer music machines. he played drums for "klaus schulze" and "ash ra tempel", later "ashra", on several of their albums. first solo release in 1980 ("synthesist"). since then he recorded four more solo albums. "oceanheart", "world of quetzal", "digital nomad" and at last, "yeti society" in 2004. harald grosskopf is to be heard on more than 100 albums, mainly of the electronic genre, toured europe, usa, japan and russia. in 1998, together with axel manrico heilhecker (git), he founded "sunya beat" a trance and big beat oriented group. later, steve baltes (keyb) joined the act. two albums, several live appearances. latest new project: "welttransporter". with singer lucian crisovan (former born suicide) and steve baltes.for further details and links check: www.harald-grosskopf.de
