Leonard Cohen, Gospel at Colonus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pogues, Bach, J Joplin, Bowie, Neil Young, Mozart, The Clash, David Byrne/Talking Heads, Robert Randolph, The Chieftains (especially in collaboration with others), Outlaws (Cash/Nelson/Coe/etc), Most treasured song is any version of Stardust.

Movies:

So many . . . Documentaries are my home base: recently Purvis of Overtown, Press On (Robert Randolph bio), Me & Isaac Newton; Also love anything made by Coen brothers and dogme95 films and von Trier (esp Breaking the Waves); Sentimental favorite is Truly Madly Deeply; recently saw and liked Domino.

Books:

The Collected Poetry of Yeats is my bible; A close second is Whitman's Song of Myself; I prize anything by HHDL; My recent reading includes Gather at the River: Notes on the Post-Millenial South (Crowther), Art books and biographies related to Egon Schiele, Poetry by Saul Williams.

Heroes:

Lifelong heroes: Teensy and Danny Other heroes: See friends list. Those people inspire me every day.
