NYWC STARS READY FOR NEW WAR AT AFTERMATH
The Psycho Circus may be over, but there is certainly no shortage of competitive fire among the NYWC roster as 2007 continues, and the next NYWC event is just around the corner! On Saturday, February 24, the New York Wrestling Connection will be back in Deer Park with another blockbuster night of action... NYWC AFTERMATH!!!
The return of Mikey Whipwreck is perhaps the most talked-about development from last month's show, as well as his apparent in-ring return, if Crusher Doogan is to be believed. However, Mikey's place in the limelight may be in peril, thanks to the reigning NYWC Champion Dickie Rodz, as well as "Mr. Entertainment," who filled in as commissioner while Doogan was on hiatus. Mikey's bid for a main event spot and a shot at the title was denied by NYWC management, and now, Mikey will likely be forced to work his way up from the bottom.
The main event will instead be a battle between Dickie Rodz and the incredible machine, Mike Spinelli. Spinelli has proven time and time again that he has the heart of a champion -- the spent the majority of the last two Psycho Circus matches drenched in his own blood -- and now, he'll have the opportunity to show everyone that he much more hidden up his sleeve. Rodz, meanwhile, is still reeling after Mikey Whipwreck's attack following the Psycho Circus last month, and he is still trying to come to terms with the betrayal by his former friend, Crusher Doogan. Dickie has almost always been able to put his distractions aside when in the ring, but will these recent events prove to be the final straw? Plus, with the talented Spinelli in the opposite corner, Rodz will have his hands completely full in this match!
Many more exciting matches are slated to go down at Aftermath, including a classic in the making -- Javi-Air versus Plazma for the NYWC HI-FI Championship! Last month, Javi managed to overcome four other highly- skilled wrestlers in a 5-man elimination match to earn top contender ranking. Now, having earned his shot fair and square, Javi will go head-to-head with the reigning HI-FI champ, Plazma. Although he is surely one of the NYWC's most skilled competitors, Plazma is at a distinct disadvantage thanks to the immense beating he -- and everyone else -- took during the Psycho Circus match. Can Plazma overcome his numerous bumps and bruises to retain the belt, or will Javi-Air take advantage of his opponent's physical woes to once again wrap gold around his waist?
Jerry Lynn will also be taking to the ring at NYWC AFTERMATH, as he locks up with Ken Scampi in a match for the NYWC Interstate Championship! Recently, Scampi has shown that not only can he compete with some of the best the NYWC has to offer, but that he can take an incredible beating and somehow manage to stay on the attack. His last two victories over Josh Daniels are due in large part to his amazing resilience and his apparent imperviousness to pain. Is there any way that Lynn can inflict enough damage to put Scampi down for the count, or will Scampi once again defy the odds and remain the Interstate Champion?
Also announced for NYWC AFTERMATH is a one-on-one match between two popular NYWC stars, Maverick and Quiet Storm! The youngster Maverick, who is still suffering the effects of a monster chokeslam through a ladder, may not be in peak condition by February 24, but he is extremely determined, and very hungry to get back into the title picture. Storm, meanwhile, is focused on nothing more than inflicting pain on everyone that gets in his way, and Maverick is first on the maniacal veteran's list! This match will be packed with big air and even bigger impacts, so don't miss out!!
