About Me

I'm not a musician, I'm a manipulator of toneGrowler 69 is an experimental solo project from idea to final track (since I can't find any one to play with me). This is the result of seemingly endless hours of experimentation logged in my crude & basic home studio guided by my ADD. This music was created originally for myself only as an audience, but as my tracks were heard, word was given back to me that I should see what the world thinks. This is why I am here and since you are part of the world this is where YOU come in. Drop me a line and let me know what ya think !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I have more toys than talentGrowler 69 defies labels. Some tracks are long ambient chill out tunes, some are hard rocking metal riffs on top of electronica, while some "tunes" are just " Manipulations Of Tone" ( the title of the forthcoming full length disc). Then there are the "tunes" where sound fx are spliced, looped, distorted and so on. Growler 69 is just a huge music fan trying to emulate some of his many musical heroes in the most unflattering and unconventional way.696969696969696969696969696969696969696969696969T H E S A G A T H A T S T A R T E D I T A L L The early history of Grolwer69696969696969696969696969696969696969696969696969Ori ginally, I started out in '99 learning how to play the axe. Hooked up with a buddy, that had a jam session with a drummer every week, to learn the ropes. Months went by and I was learnin' to jam on the drums as well as the axe. I would take breaks, and during one of those breaks the guys asked me to write some lyrics to their music. A couple of weeks, and about a whole notebook of paper later, I had lyrics to our first "song". That was what I thought was the end of it. Then came the request, "Sing it dude". Months later, we had our song complete, with shotty GROWL like vocals. We persisted, and as time went by we had about an album worth of tunes with me growling all the way. We ended up playing a couple of shows at some local dives, and I had my first taste of the stage! The rush is unmatched! Anyway, long story short, the band loved the rush so much, that they became a real good cover band, without "The Growler". I was sent packing with an appreciation of the wealth of knowledge they had taught me. I soon found that the rush of creation was really what I loved. "The Growler" no longer fit what was to become my new creative outlet, but I wanted to retain all that I came from. You see I was born in 1969, the summer of love. Hence, the name "GROWLER 69" (and what were you thinking). Since starting out in '99 I had the fortune of letting my ADD guide me through all toyz that make noise, and ended up with a few in my possession. I became a one man band after a couple of years. All the tracks here are a product of me.....or...........as Paul Simon stated, "I don't write great songs, great songs write me". Not that I write great songs, but these tracks were laid down within the realm of this creative thought.
