About Me

NEWS + TOURS!
June 14th-24th
UK Tour!
w/ Squab , Napoleon Dynamite

Hello! I'm Neil, it's nice to meet you.
I have been acoustic-ing for around 10 months now, and I have had the pleasure of visiting some of the most amazing places and spaces, meeting some of my best friends.
Speaking of which, myself and PJ & Gaby have recorded a split entitled "Be Realistic: Demand The Impossible!", which comes in DIY cardboard packaging, and lots of hand-made/drawn bits and pieces. You can buy it from several places for super-cheap, the links are below.
I went on tour last summer to Europe, visiting Austria, Switzerland and Slovenia. This year I will be doing various tours in the UK, five weeks in the USA, and a month in Europe. I also have a bunch of new songs written for a new album... helped out by my great buddies Draw the Chalk Line , and various other friends- old and new!
If you would like me to play any gig at all, then don't hesitate to send a message.
- Neil

Sounds Like: "I think you, and all acoustic folk-punk is shit"
[a nice man at a house show]

"Neil Sutherland's music is eclectic, positive folk punk. Well crafted, original and uplifting tunes that make you smile. His politics are subtle which works really well and his optimism is infectious"
[Vince, Last Hours Zine]

"Essex boy with an acoustic guitar and a song called detonation that isn't a strike anywhere cover. its still good despite that."
[BD7 Punx]

"Essexs best export ever since the escort stopped being made..... great folk punk, has to be seen."
[The Homestead]

"N. Sutherland is the latest in a long line of bearded, national express riding, tofu eating artisans to find their way out of the Essex county lines. Armed with a staggering four chords this young man has been causing quite a stir across the UK and Europe in his quest to bully himself onto every PJ and Gaby billing. Get yourself along to a show and check out this eloquent storyteller before he is a stadium show only kind of performer. The future is nice. The future is N."
[Jon Fawkes, fellow coat-tailing extraordinaire]

"To buy this CD is not only to give a few pounds to an artist, it is to support a cause, an ideology, to accept and believe that the things can really move, starting from a small whole anything..."
