About Me

BLUZETIP & MADFRITT bids you a warm welcome to their fetid lair of underground beats and sizzling solos. Get yo shades, yo flares and yo groove-socks on, baby, and stroll with them into the fiery oblivion that is JazzFunk...Sure it's a long and meandering path with many a pitfall; hazards lie in wait for those with a taste for glittery, out-of-date fashionware and over-sized sunglasses; cancer looms for the die-hards who find themselves languishing eternally in smoky basements and bars. But fear not, B&M's been churning these beats out for years...They're seasoned hands, artful practitioners of today's Jazz Voodoo. They will serve as your most gracious guide. And ultimately, they think it's worth it...This is the flagship project of ace groove-producer, RARE DEVIL, whose improvisational electronic jazz has been wowing and baffling even the most hardened-music programmers and floor-funkers for well over a decade...Combining an uncanny flair for all that is Jazz, Funk or Rare Groove, some seriously inspired programming, and a smorgesbord of live instruments, prepare for the hyperreal dabblings and soul rush of the Jazz force that is...BLUZETIP & MADFRITT.

Influences: Influences are many but here's a quick doff of the cap to:Nu Jazz bands St Germain & Bugge Wesseltoft, Drum & Bass Bands Icarus & 4 Hero, DJs Kruder & Dorfmeister and David Holmes, Funketeers like Herbie Hancock, The Meters and James Brown (RIP), Hammond-meisters Jimmy Smith & Dr Lonnie Smith, labels including Blue Note, Atlantic, Acid Jazz & Motown. And last but not least, nutty genius Frank Zappa and natty genius Bob Marley...
Sounds Like: Herbie Hancock on speed, Jimmy Smith on downers, St Germain with less loops; the kind of sound you could get from Drum & Bass if it was played by real instruments; and all with a peppery sprinkling of basement chic and a lick of 70's cop show.
