Q: WHO ARE JYNX?
JYNX were one of the most popular 'Grunge' unsigned acts in the South of England. We started in 1990 and were based out of Woking, Surrey, United Kingdom. Taking influences from both the then relatively unknown groups of Nirvana and Pearl Jam and older more melodic groups such as The Doors, the we were lucky enough to build up a very strong local 'grass-roots' following, always packing out local venues.

It was not long before we took to the London scene. When we hit London things went from 'strong' to 'huge' and we increased our fan-base to upwards of 2000 named members, filling venues such as the Mean Fiddler, the Cartoon Club and the Marquee.

Communicating to the fans was interesting as email was not widely used, so our phone bills and postal costs were massive! It paid off though as it was at this time some of the smaller independent record labels started taking interest.

Q: WHAT HAPPEND TO THE BAND???
Eventually, in June 1994, at the height of our popularity, a company called 'Force 10 Records' made us a offer which ultimately we turned down due to problematic publishing rights. Shortly after, the band also split-up, going our separate ways.

Q: SO WHY SET UP THIS SITE NOW?
With such a loyal and large fan-base, we wanted to give something back to everyone who supported us by posting some songs that we both recorded in the studio and live.

We are also currently looking into the possibility of a reunion to update our song portfolio and re-record with a current-day twist, and perhaps some live dates tooPlease add us to your friend list so you can leave your comments and we can comment back - we're not 'too cool' to get back to you and every comment WILL get a response!

NIRVANA...
