I'd like to meet:
Jughead's Revenge began in Los Angeles in late 1989 when the members met through mutual bands they knew. Releasing they're first record Unstuck In Time in 1990 on the self-run and prolifically named Lawsuit Records. Produced by Brett Gurewitz and Donell Cameron. Only 1,000 pressed on 12" vinyl. The line-up at the time was Joe D. vocals, Joey R. first guitar, George Snow second guitar Brian Priess bass and Nenus Givargus drums. In 1992 releasing It's Lonely At The Bottom on CD and a live 7" Out Of Beer, Out Of Tune And Out Of Control recorded at 924 Gilman St. limited to 500 pressed. To make touring easier , they licensed the catalog to BYO Records for distributing while in the works for 1993's full-length release Elimination. Also on BYO in the U.S. and on Do It! Records Europe.
While mostly doing shows run and promoted by themselves, they were able to provide shows for bands that more commercial promoters wouldn't book making them one of the last DIY bands in the Los Angeles scene. 1994 brought many changes to the band, and to Punk around the world of which made Jughead's Revenge dig deeper into the sound that influenced them most. Moving away from where they're peers were heading. George started full-time with The Bad Samaritans. Jarrod Thornton now on drums. 1995's 13 Kiddie Favorites reflects the bands inspiration from Poison Idea to Bad Religion and Black Flag. In 1997 the band signed to its first lable Nitro Records, later that year Image is Everything was released. Produced by Warren Fitzgerald this record was for the most part, making lite of the commercial climate change in Punk while trying to get a serious message across. In 1998 Craig Riker was added on second guitar and Ty Smith on drums for the release of Just Joined. Produced by Trever Keith it was the bands departure into what would be some of they're best songs to date. Despite some critics comparing them to Bad Religion. When asked, Joe D. stated that " I thought we were stealing more from The Beach Boys.." as they were never press-darlings and saw no reason to start. The lawsuit with Archie Comics began, eventually making them the first Punk band to be successfully sued over the name by a corporation. Andy Alverez was added on drums later that year. As a contract fulfillment, 1999's The Pearly Gates was the band's "good bye" letter to it's friends and fans. exhausted from Nitro's lack of support in the lawsuit and over 10 years of touring, the band decided to go on an undetermined hiatus. The bands anthology is in the works. No release date is set.
