My Interests

Watching my children grow into functioning, successful adults. Still sitting on pins and needles, but it's looking up. As Jackie Onassis said, if you mess up with your kids, not much else you do matters much. I spend a lot of time on Geneological endeavors (I feel like a detective- hot on the trail of ancestors, and I learn history at the same time), History, Poetry, my pets. When I was healthier I loved to grow flowers and cook and keep house, with time I am sure I will enjoy those things again.

Books:

(Almost)quit reading novels when kids were born. Fell in love with the condensed nature of poetry. Most of my reading now is done on a monitor sans paper. My favorite book is "We the Living" by Ayn Rand "Atlas Shrugged" is a close second. "The Red Badge of Courage" "The Iron Cross" "Stalingrad" "The Color Purple" "Like Water for Chocolate" Anything by Boris Pasternak, Edgar Allen Poe, Maya Angelo and many others... "No Wonder they call Him the Savior" by Max Lucado is the best book about Jesus ever. But I'm not sure if Max would be happy about the company I keep him in.

Heroes:

My mother for being so consistantly inconsistant, and my grandmother for being consistantly consistant. My children because they survived Oroville. A certain brave man.
