Influences: About Dirk Blümlein Terzett.
I have been writing songs on the bass for a long time and was thinking of a way how to play them. After a long time of trial and error this is it. A small group that can easily play in any place.
The music is based on parts that are heavily constructed and parts that are free. Partly a jazz and partly a pop approach.
Songs in the player
"In Heimsheim daheim sein"
It's the first song of the new cd "Freizeitvergnügen". The title is a silly wordgame about a small village close to where I live.
"Mieses Essen, keine Frauen"
As a Star Trek fan, I found this phrase said by commander Riker and thought it would make a great title for a song. Like "6 und 4 ist 10", the bass plays everything except for the drum part. There are also sounds of my car like doorslamming and blinker clicks that make rhythmic elements throughout the tune.
"6 und 4 ist 10"
Everybody keeps asking me about this track. It's only a few basses and
a drumbeat. Plus the voice of a stewardess from Lithuanian Airlines that adds some rhythm.
"Wo geht's zum Bahnhof"
This song was originally written for a movie.
It is played during a scene where a guy stands at the grave of his friend.
Unfortunately the scene was too short, so I had to rush the song.
When I was making the Terzett CD I took the opportunity to play this song in a tempo it should be played.
"Tour de France"
Written while watching sports on tv. I always practice while watching sports on TV. Guess what was on?!
