About Me

I am a professional blues and rock guitarist, as well as being a singer/songwriter in my own blasphemously monikered power trio, Jesus Crowley, which I hope to get into the clubs this summer. I have played with a whole bunch of bands in Sacramento over the years. Notable gigs include ecclectic "world rock" with New World Primitive, over the top post-punk mayhem with a blues grounding with the Blue Limes, that funk rawk trip with Samsara, power pop with fangs with RazorLily, and a brief stint playing whatever you call what he does with Anton Barbeau. At this time, I play lead guitar with D-Con Jones, a jump blues trio featuring upright bass played brilliantly by the good Deacon himself.Jesus Crowley is a blues rock power trio with a noticble R&B slant. Our blashphemous name belies the accesability of our lyrics, only a few of which even touch upon the occult. Many of our hottest tunes center on the tried and true "boy meets girl, girl is unimpressed with boy because he is white and she is a hot spicy latina, boy casts love spell on girl, girl throws herself at boy and they elope under a silvery moon which then explodes for no adequitely explained reason."
Since it seems there is a bit of confusion, I'll list my influences here. Note the absence of names like Van Halen, Maalmsteen, Vai...etc... I am NOT a metal player.
On Guitar: Keith Richards, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Billy Zoom, Eric Clapton, John McLaughlin, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Tom Verlaine, Muddy Waters, Albert King, Mick Taylor, Pete Townshend, Mike McCready, Andy Summers, Kim Thayil, Johnny Ramone, Mick Ronson, Johnny Winter, Roy Buchannan, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Django Rheinhardt, Syd Barrett, Jimmy Page, Freddy King, T Bone Walker, Les Paul, Wes Montgomory, Kenny Burell, Poison Ivy, Chuck Berry, and of course, my initial inspiration to play electric guitar, George Harrison
As a Songwriter: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, Joe Strummer, Jimi Hendrix, Willie Dixon, David Bowie, Holland/Dozier/Holland, Chuck Berry, and Boyce and Hart
As a Singer: Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison, David Bowie, Glenn Danzig, Eddie Vedder, Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, Joey Ramone
Which guitar are you?(pics)
Fender Strat You are a Fender Stratocaster. You are the orignal rock and roll guitar.
