I am here for Friends

About Me

I am dead set convinced in my conviction that I am the most open-minded person I've ever met. So as a rule of thumb, I oppose anyone's views and ideas, for they are surely more closed-minded than mine.

My Interests

Marrying rich so I can get a free ride.

I'd like to meet:

Progressive women who dye their hair all colors of the rainbow. And snakecharmers.

Music:

Ohh to name a few... Beatles, Bobby Dylan, The Velvet Underground, Hank Williams, the Clash, Wilco, David Bowie, The Yardbirds, Chopin, Simon and Garfunkel, Albinez, and other stuff that goes here and there

Movies:

P.T. Anderson works, Charlie Kaufman works, Kubrick works, Marx Brothers works...

Television:

Seinfeld, Real Time with Bill Mahr, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Jeopardy, Curb Your Enthusiasm

Books:

William Shakespeare, James Joyce, Herman Hesse, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Cervantes and the rest of the gang. The I Ching. Recently: the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins; Breaking the Spell by Daniel C. Dennett; the End of Faith and Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris (to jump on the current band wagon). And Playboy's a book, right? I swear, I only read the articles... especially the, umm, centerfold articles.

Heroes:

The ones Bowie sings about... only they don't die. God, that's depressing. Those schmucks! All odds against them and they tried to fight anyway! They should've saved the trouble and admit defeat! Were they insane!? Who did they think they were anyway? What, some kind of heroes or something!?! I mean, seriously, what kin... oh wait, right.

My Blog

I stayed up all night unstudying logic and still managed to fail my Scientology exam

You know, I have to give credit to Scientology.  It has the balls to blatantly expose its fictional basis and still maintain a healthy number of practicioners.  It's like a po...

No, really, it's all symbolic

How does a religion or religious creed determine what can be considered literal in its beliefs and what can be considered symbolic in its beliefs? Where is...
