The Scott Allen Band

About Me

The Scott Allen Band is one of the hottest blues/rock bands performing in the Deep South today. Performances have been compared to being caught in a "blues hurricane" by the press. Singer/guitarist/songwriter Scott Allen's gritty, high energy style in the "one man against the world tradition" reflects his own colorful and adventurous life and through his music redefines what the modern southern man is like today. Expect edgy high energy music that will amaze as well as entertain. Get ready to be rocked!
"I was born a citizen of the New Orleans area. I started playing guitar when I was four (one of my first songs being "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" by The Stones). We moved to St. Louis, Mo. when I was seven and there I took guitar lessons for the next several years. By nine I had already started a rock band with a couple of neighborhood buddys. We played Beatles and Stones songs at birthday parties. After my family had moved around the country pursuing the American dream, we ended up in Beaumont, Texas. Beaumont is a kind of hard core southern town where if your not a little tough your not going to make it. I guess that's why that area has contributed so many world class musicians with raw and exciting sounds. Johnny and Edgar Winter's family home was a couple of blocks away from ours and they were already giant stars. Z.Z.Top was a local bar band destined for greatness. Port Arthur's Janis Joplin was blowing people away with her frenzied performances. There was a revolution of hot sound being produced and exploding on the world stage. I started sneaking into clubs around the age of fifteen, and taking whatever chance to sit in or gig that I could get. Since then I have performed all over the South and have played roadhouses, taverns , night clubs, juke joints, dance halls, riverboats, out door festivals and parades, concert halls and many other venues, we even were the back-up band for the contestants for the regional Colgate Country Showdown one year. I am fortunate to have a group of very talented and dedicated musicians backing me up. We've done some recording ("Primitive Behavior"-released in 1996 and followed up with " Mr. Wrong Goes to Mardi Gras"- released in 2001) on the (ZombieWolf Entertainment) label and have had some regional radio play as well as been mentioned in national publications. Presently, we are working on several projects that include a new collection of punchy blues-rock songs, and an instrumental kind of jazz-rock collection, and we have hundreds of hours of live performances that we eventually plan on sifting through and releasing on a "live" c.d.. We are getting a schedule together of future live dates to promote the upcoming studio blues-rock c.d. that will be announced soon. I now use North Louisiana as a base of operations because of it's central location to Shreveport, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Memphis, New Orleans, Jackson, etc.. This area has been very supportive of our high energy blues rock. We call ourselves " the little band from louisiana that plays the hottest blues rock on the planet!".................................................... ..............Scott AllenI'd like to thank the following entities for supporting the band: jack's bar-arcadia, la./stow's bar-ruston,la./baby huey's on the bayou-bossier city, la./noble savage-shreveport,la./the dixie pool hall-nederland, tx./the hidden paradise-waverly,la./psally's-monroe la./robert e. lee's-monroe,la./ sundown tavern-ruston, la./ the dawghouse-ruston, la./ cactusjacks-ruston,la./the cue stick-ruston,la/ the dixie theatre-ruston,la/railroad park-ruston,la/tommy's club-shreveport, la/ the wishing well-bossier city,la./ shaky jakes-shreveport,la/ the locker room-bossier city,la/ killer's-bossier city,la./ the drag pipe-bossier city,la./ the ginmill-w. monroe,la./ memories-w. monroe,la/tanks place-w.monroe,la / the backdoor lounge-w. monroe,la./ thegrind-w. monroe,la/ bayles landing-w. monroe,la/ the landing-w. monroe,la/ sugies-w. monroe,la/ enoch's-monroe,la/ sixth st. bar-monroe,la/ jazzin' java- monroe,la/the tomcat- monroe.la./ the shamrock-monroe,la./ cooleys' bar-monroe,la/the duckblind-monroe,la/ sal's saloon-monroe,la./ cheers bar-monroe,la./cattails-monroe,la./the moonlighter-monroe, la./ georgia's place-monroe,la./ fat's- monroe,la/the pair-o-dice-monroe,la/ 2 rules2- monroe.la/ moon lake marina-monroe,la/d'arbonne lake marina-farmerville,la./ folly beach- farmerville, la./the ranch-farmerville,la./ jj.'s lounge-kelly,la./ ponchatoulas- ruston,la/ the last resort-winnfield, la/ goodfella's- winnsboro,la./ bobtails lounge- winnsboro,la/ johnny's bar- winnsboro, la./ the lamplighter- columbia, la./ the watermark-columbia,la./the get away- lake providence/ the riverside- ark. city, ark./julio's- tallulla, la./ broken promises- baucomville, la/ smitty's- baucomville, la./ makin' tracks- simsboro, la./ the rut- arcadia, la./lafitte's- arcadia, la./the dry dock-ruston, la./KLPI ruston,la./ K105 monroe,la./ k106 monroe,la/ k104 tallulah/the twin city queen of monroe,la/ the krewe of janus/nclac/ and wife tammy for promotional and artistic contributions. i know i will remember more when my mind is right!
