Noble Savage Tavern

About Me

For booking information contact Eric Johnson at (318) 221-1781.The Noble Savage Tavern, 417 Texas Street, Shreveport, LA 71101 (318) 221-1781 Located right in the heart of downtown at 417 Texas Street, the cheerful tavern overflows with good music and ale. Ceiling fans hang from tall wood beam ceilings and flicker light overhead, and warm candlelight flickers below on heavy oak tables. The building, over 150 years old, is an historic part of the citys heritage. A peacock painted on the floor of the game room annex is a reminder of the old Peacock's Jewelers business that once stood in its place. And the bar is the same one that saw a lifetime of service in the classic Monsours. Historical preservation is extremely important to the Colbys: Weve saved as much of the (buildings) original integrity as we could. What distinguishes the Noble Savage from other restaurants is Chef Colbys creative, all-from-scratch kitchen. The typical dining experience at the Noble Savage is one of eclectic specialties: Thai-fried crawfish, smoked seafood chowder, amberjack in a 3-peppered butter, axis venison with spiced cantaloupe, cranberry oak cookies with chocolate mousse. The Noble Savage pizzas derive from the total menu concept -- the Herbivore, Carnivore, and Omnivore. I try to satisfy most anybodys wants or needs -- vegan, vegetarian and gourmet, says Chef Colby. For all bookings please contact Eric Johnson at (318) 221-1781 Thanks again!!!!

Sounds Like: The following is an unsolicited review: I love the Noble Savage because it is such a great place to hear the fantastic live music that comes from right here in Shreveport. I especially enjoy the nights Barbara Jarrell plays - such a musician and a poet! The food is excellent and never ordinary. I get their Noble Salad a lot. The Little Savages (mini-empanadas) are great, too, as are the nightly specials, if you're hungrier. They also have a cheesecake that I dream about.Nice, relaxed atmosphere, good live music, sweet waiters, Guiness on tap, what's not to like?
