About Me

ACIN was brought to life by Mike Scrivens in the late fall of 2003. Stumbling upon a message board (iheartnoise) while surfing the 'net one day opened the door to the underground community of NOISE. From there, Mike linked his way thru many project sites, listening to samples of this strange new music he discovered. After befriending Jonas (aka MAIM) from Sweden, Mike was encouraged to mess around with the mass of effect boxes he had collected over the years, playing bass in several bands. The results blew his mind!! Hooking up his stomp boxes to his digital 4-track, Mike gave birth to ACIN and it's debut, self-titled disc. Mike could have easily just sat on this project, but wanted to be a part of this loyal music scene. It was then that he created Absalom Recordings, an experimental cd-r label, run from his house, to promote ACIN, as well as like-minded individuals. The response was overwhelming!! Within a year, Mike had GLOBALLY released discs by artists from Turkey, Sweden, England, Belgium, Canada, and several states within the U.S., as well as worked on a distribution deal with Japan.
