...Gnaw Their Tongues is one of the few bands with an utterly distinctive and recognizable sound.... You
will absolutely never confuse the music of Gnaw Their Tongues with
any other outfit. And conversely, you will never hear something that
is not them, and assume it is, because NOTHING sounds anything like
Gnaw Their Tongues. (www.aquariusrecords.org)

...This is like listening to the end of the world in Symphonic format but slowed down to half speeds and tons of Noise and Feedback added in for good measure. The closest thing that comes to mind by this fantastic release is if you had Nadja and In Slaughtered Native collab then just for shits and giggles you had a black metal vocalist come in to make the tunes even more grim and pissed out. This release is something on must witness to truly understand. (http://absolutezeromedia.us/)

...About as far from formulaic BM as it’s possible to get, this is simply hideous noise fit for forcibly inducing the deepest and most insane brain-storms it is possible for human minds to endure. Shriek! (http://www.thesoundprojector.com)

...There needs to be a musical category called "frightening fucking shit," because that's where this belongs, not in metal, or drone, or ambient (although it's frequently all of these things and more)....The disc's sound is one of atmospheric dread, with distorted sheets of ambient noise, droning black-metal riffs, and the occasional presence of dirge-like percussion disrupted by bouts of hysterical shrieking and unnerving samples about homicide and death -- much like previous efforts, in other words. But there are some new strategies at work here as well, including wailing, operatic vocals (probably sampled) and even a choir on "and there will be more of your children dead tomorrow." It sounds like the instrumentation is a bit more varied this time around, too, with mellow tones that wouldn't be out of place in a cathedral, percussion that is not limited to industrial clanging, and organ sounds contributing to the drone factor. ...Rarely these days is a band/artist able to genuinely scare the living shit out of you quite like Dutch act Gnaw Their Tongues. Far removed by the confides of conventional – even unconventional – extreme music, Gnaw Their Tongues apocalyptic soundscapes are one of pitch black metallic ambience, building the core of its paranormal sound on distorted, disjointed and discordant riffs, ritual drum programming (excellently done I might add) and more eerie synths and samples than you can shake a shitty stick at.
Completely unrelenting and superbly constructed "An Epiphanic Vomiting Of Blood" is an absolute must for anyone seeking something darker than the now (sadly) constrained confides of your usual black metal act. In summery this is another simply amazing release from one of the genres most exciting and unpredictable artists. (www.vampire-magazine.com)

...Het krankzinnige "My Body is Not A Vessel, Nor A Temple. It's A Repulsive Pile Of Sickness" is een statement dat kan tellen. Loodzware gitaren en onduidelijke helse kreten gaan een eerste maal een walgelijke paringsdans aan met beukende drums en op chaotisch aangeslagen pianotoetsen. De zang werd wijselijk vervangen door een ondergronds grommen, kwijlen en braken. Zelden heeft een nummer meer ziekmakende schoonheid weten te herbergen. (www.goddeau.com)
