About Me

Wild Willies TV Commercial

Add to My Profile | More VideosI've loved music for as long as I can remember. At 13 I started playing guitar and was the singer for a punk band called Voice of America back in 1981. Over the years I played with a couple of different groups. Mostly, I enjoyed open jam sessions. Most of my friends were musicians. so there was no end to the jams. We would play all day and all night. At some point I became a bass player because everyone played guitar and I seemed to be able to groove with whatever we decided to play. This was mostly done in the San Fernando Valley in southern California. After high school, I was working with a band called Shades. I was their sound engineer and sang back up volcals. At this time, around 1986, I realized I loved audio engineering, and this was a job that I could actualy earn a living at. So in 1988 or so, I went to Sound Masters Audio Engineering school in North Hollywood. After graduating, I worked at a couple of studios. One was post production and one was a rehearsal studio. The great thing about the rehearsal studio was, I met and made friends with even more musicians, many of whom I jammed with. Early in 1995, I needed to escape from L.A. and moved up to Bishop CA with my now wife, Karen. Karen was manageing bands when I met her in LA and we hit it off. Like myself, she wanted to get out of LA so we moved up here. Being in a new place, I didn't know any musicians, so I built a computer for recording and set up a home studio. Then I put my audio engineering skills to work and started making and recording my own music. With musical influences that are all over the place, I started making music under the name Flyin Eye Project. My idea was to make music and have guests play on my songs too. As you will notice, after you have herd a couple of my songs, I like to make each song sound like something completly orginal and different than anything else I have recorded. So if you don't care for a song, take a listen to another one because it will sound nothing like the previous songs.

How much of a computer geek are you?

You do, in fact, know everything there is to know about computers. The odd thing is, you don't flaunt it, you help out the newbs from time to time and people quietly are in awe. You like to amuse yourself by watching people debate issues in forums and newsgroups that seem horribly simple to you. You're such a geek that you're cool... weird
