Band Members: The Bloody Chambers Orchestra is a project that myself and friends throw together for those bigger clubs.It's a full band playing live house music and we have so much fun playing at clubs the members are, KEITH O'REILLY(Dj and programmer), GIOVANNI VISCARDI(Percussion), WAYNE FARRELL(Guitar), ANDY LAIGHTON(Fiddle,Violin), BARRA McALLISTER(Flute,Whistles).Here are some flyers from gigs i played in 2006,where i get together just myself playing percussion and some of the best DJ's in town you can also check out video from these gigs in my video.Here also is a small bio on the members of The Bloody Chambers Orchestra;"KEITH O'REILLY"(dj and programer)started DJing at the age of 15,running nights in McGonagles,Dublin.Inspired at the time by early acid-house and hip-hop.During the early nineties,Keith held residencies at Juicy Fruit with Aiofa Ni Canna at The Garding Club playing a mixture of funk and jazzy house, and Funky N Fresh at the Cottonwood Cafe, a late night playing of soul,jazz mixed with deep house.By 1997,Keith was promoting Isms and Schisms with Scott McNaughton at Old New Orleans,which at the time was Dublins only late night dance club,and was regulary DJing at such Dublin clubs as The Kithing, Ri-Ra, The Tivoli, The Furnace and hosted radio shows on Dublin's Power FM and Sunset FM.
In the late 1997,he went to San Francisco to DJ at such clubs as Release, Come-Unity, Uniting Souls and Sound Factory and supported acts such as Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, and Paul Oakenfold.During his time in San Francisco Keith started and promoted the now infamous Oblivion Boat parties which ran for four consecutive summers.Now living in Dublin Keith and i have ran, promoted and played in nearly every club in Dublin city as a DJ and live percussion act, and together with other members to form The Bloody Chambers Orchestra."WAYNE FARRELL"(guitair)has been involvedin the Dublin music scene for the last eight years.He has recorded tracks for such companies as E.M.I and Waner Bros. and been part of Angels of Mons how released a record in 2005 which won the Meteor for best new act in 2005.Wayne has an excellent stage presence and combined with years of experience thats given him a sound thats perfect for the groupBARRA McALLISTER(flute, whistles, bodhran, vocals), from North Dublin, 22 years old, is the ground breaking Irish flute player in his time. He was guided to the whistle from his early days but only discovered the Flute at the age of 14 and has since then mastered its playing. He is now the musical director for the Clasac touring dance group and has performed his arrangements at huge festivals all over Europe organized by “Cioffâ€, the cultural branch of the United Nations. He has played in the National Concert hall in Dublin for the last eight years and was billed last year to perform with singer-songwriter Damien Dempsey supporting Bob Dylan on his two Irish dates.Andy Leighton(fiddle) was born in Perth (Scotland), then moved to northern England and back again to Dumfries in southern Scotland, where he attended Wallace Hall Academy before finally moving to Dublin in '97 to complete a HND in traditional music and performance ran by ballyfermot senior college.
He first started learning the fiddle age 11 in school under the tuition of Bill McNabb, and gradually became more and more interested in irish music through trips to ireland with his parents, to sumer schools such as 'willie week' in co clare and scoil acla on Achil island.
