About Me

The Carbon Factory idea was first born in November 2002 in Portsmouth (U.K). Ex techno D.J. Steve started working on the music and the lyrics for “So cold” at that time and was then joined by a girl called Zoë shortly after. The original version of the song was finished in summer 2003 and a video for the track was completed later that winter. The song was released via a local record shop “Reflex records” and the duo appeared on local television to promote the CD and the video. The video was shown up to three times daily on this channel. Unfortunately, Zoë left the project shortly after due to other commitments and Steve moved his concentration into producing music and acting for a soap opera that appears on Skys’ Community channel in the UK and the Internet. Carbon Factory lay dormant.
In February 2006, Steve ended his brief TV career and decided to concentrate on Carbon Factory again. Laura joined him in March and contributed backing vocals on “Something wrong”. This new lease of life resulted in the debut album (as yet unreleased and untitled) being written and (mostly) recorded by the end of 2007. “So cold” was given a revamp (see song list) and new tracks were added including “Need the money”, “Lapse”, "Meaningless", “Don’t want u back” and “Timewasters”.

Everybody that we have ever heard that was good!

We’re really liking Velvet Code at the mo. Watch the video for "Trust fund girl" below.

Sounds Like: Carbon Factory rock, even if they do say so themselves ;) Their music is an exuberant collision of electro beats and blues undertones, a synergy of electro & punk where anything goes. Check out the tunes on this page and judge for yourselves...
