About Me

Hi there!
Welcome to MY space on MySpace. Yeah, I know it's nothing fancy, and I'm reeeeealy envious of all the nice profiles in here, but hey, I'm a radioguy, not a web-guy! (Just like: "DeeJay's don't dance, you know...")
So who am I??
I'm the producer & host of a weekly 2 hour, syndicated radioshow in Denmark called "De Fede 80'ere" ("The Awesome 80's"), which is currently aired on nine different radiostations around Denmark, and even on Greenland.
Aside from all the classic 80's hits, many of them pretty worn out from all those years of airplay, my show also picks up the lost and forgotten songs, you'll remember you've heard and maybe loved back in the 80's, but haven't heard since. That way, my show is maybe the only show on the air which are playing songs you haven't heard in maybe 27 years!
Apart from that, I try to track down some of the original artists and having them on the show for interviews. I've had Howard Jones on the show, leadsinger of "Living In A Box" Richard Darbyshire, one-hit-wonder Willy Finlayson (who had a small hit called "On The Air Tonight" back in 84-85), legendary remixers Ben Liebrand & Phil Harding of PWL, as well as some danish 80's artists.
I'm proud to say, that I haven't forgotten about the good ol' vinyls, and allthough the show itself is produced on a DAW (computer), a great number of the tracks I play on the show is actually ripped from my vinyl collection (after they have been cleaned and digitally restored, ofcourse!) I even have a feature in the show called "The weekly 12-inch remix" which is a vinyl 12-inch played in its entirety, often a track that haven't been played on the radio for decades!
Today, allmost every radiostation is using computer-based song-scheduling, and have a limited selection of songs from the 80's in rotation. In conjunction, only a vast majority of songs of the 80's are available on CD, which is why it is the same, narrow selection of 80's hits you always hear on the radios. WHAT A SHAME, DON'T YOU THINK?!
I don't think the classics are bad, I just don't think they solely represent the music, alot of us grew up with. That's why I try to dig up ALL the great songs we still remember, the second we hear them again.
This is why, I have created my show.
Check out my website (only in danish): www.defede80ere.dk (for some reason, i can't get the URL to be clickable!?)
I also have my own voice-over business, doing voice-work for radio & TV commercials. I work mainly from my home studio, where my radioshow is also produced. I use a custom-made DAW (computer built specially for audio editing and recording), a 20-track mixing console, a tube microphone connected to a tube pre-amp and some other equipment. I also work freelance.
My voice-over services was currently accredited by "SaVoa", the "Society of Accredited Voice Over Artists".
BY THE WAY!!! I welcome every "Friend Request", but unlike alot of other MySpace users, my goal IS NOT to have 13472 people on my friends-list. Therefore, if I don't see the point in being friends with you, or if I suspect that your main purpose is spamming bulletins, your request will be denied. Also, I'm really... REALLY! not into Rap & Hip-Hop, and have no desire of promoting it here on my MySpace, so any friend requests from artists in this genre are also denied.

My Interests

Music, audio engineering and audio equipment, animals, computers, my car!

I'd like to meet:

80's "nerds", DJ's, artists, producers, remixers and other with a love for the music of the good old 80's, voice-over talents, and others I somehow admire or like to meet!

Music:

Even though the frase "Oh, I like all kinds of music" is kind of a kliché, it's not far from what i would say. I like pop, dance, trance, lounge & deep house, chill-out (but not dub), rock (but not heavy metal), classic (but not opera) and a little bit of jazzzzz.... I don't have a lot of idols, but I own every single album by Pet Shop Boys, Enya, Seal, Dido, Jean Michel Jarre and Randi Laubek (danish female singer, probably one of God's favorite singers too!)I'm also pretty fond of Everything But The Girl, and have everything after "Missing" blew my mind in '95.

Movies:

Hard to pick some out, but i like movies that aren't predictable, like say "Se7en", "SAW", "Usual Suspects", "The Others", "Crash" and many others....

Television:

I admit, I'm a series-junkie... I love "Prison Break" and "The Shield". I also like "Lost", "Alias", "The Simpsons" and several others.

Books:

I don't have time to read much!

Heroes:

First and foremost my wife, for putting up with me, i guess! Secondly, all the people who inspired me in getting into radio and still is inspiring me to do my show: Christian Flagstad & Kim Schumacker (late and legendary danish radio d.j.s), Scott Shannon, Broadway Bill Lee, Ben Liebrand, Shep Pettibone, Arthur Baker, John Jellybean Benitez... and lots of others!
