The history of My Shadow starts in the fall of 2004 with Daniel (Klepsy) Neagoe who gathered members from Ultima Comanda and Sine Die in a formula which was supposed to be a combination between gothic metal and depressive ambiental , a combination of great atmosphere and melody .In October same year the first songs are given birth (Lacrimi de Plumb and Chappel ) for the band that until then had no name.
By some strange happening the band will be called My Shadow and its members will be : Daniel Neagoe/drums and vocals, Alexandru Wehry/guitars , Daniel Mihaies/bass and Maria Stefan/keyboards.
Shortly the band’s debut will be at the premiere of Rocka Rolla Magazine, where My Shadow plays along with bands like Point Blank and Implant pentru Refuz . For this concert it is chosen as a drummer Alexandru Hera (ex: Sine Die) , vocals being done by Klepsy.For personal and professional reasons, Alexandru Hera becomes an official member of the band , and My Shadow begins to play on stages. The joy doesn’t last long , at the end of November the same year Maria decides to leave the band and this is a big loss for My Shadow, who’s ascension on stage has become big enough and more songs have been written down. In Maria’s place comes Orsolya Weissgerber (ex: Fogland) who shortly accommodates and fits in the band and the work on new songs is begun this way. At that time My Shadow was : Daniel Neagoe/vocals , Alexandru Wehry/guitars , Daniel Mihaies/bass , Alexandru Hera/drums , Orsolya Weissgerber/keyboards.
My Shadow has its first show in Bucharest at the end of the year , a brilliant show , a show which was supposed to discuss the band’s future in the capital.
March 2005 was the period when My Shadow recorded their first demo “In Search Of Light†,a material which contains 6 tracks ,a very good sound and the status as a band on Romanian metal scene.
The year 2005 brings a great value – Cristi Rachitovan/guitars , a musician with a great potential and special talent , and he brings My Shadow a new sound and a bigger wider horizon.
It is followed a new concert in Bucharest , this time with My Shadow as headliner. The show is successful , with good opinions and good critics from other band’s members and organisers.
A third concert in Bucharest is played this time a big “exam†with two big names, Amatris and Magica , where My Shadow excels as a band and performance on stage. Shortly after these shows My Shadow releases a single, “Lies†,a strong combination between aggression and melody , which creates a good gothic metal with various influences.
A very good opinion was given My Shadow after playing at Bucharest Metal Nights Fest , bit once with the success there were the first debacles between the members and those led to arguments followed by the changing of the members.
In a new formula the band records an album , but the lack of a bassist and a keyboard player things went heavily than usual , but in the end things were ok and the realization of this album was successful .Having 8 tracks the album offers a new and more mature sound and view of the music , a complex mixture from different styles of metal , a new vision and a new concept . In a new formula which includes: Daniel Neagoe/drums , bass , vocals and keys ,Andrei Popa (ex: Negura Bunget) /guitars and Cezara Berezovschi /vocals , choirs , the album Nonexistence was a success .
Recently , the band has new members in London UK and works in a studio at a new single “Blast The Fear†, a more aggressive sound led to melodic death metal , and a sample of this new sound can be heard on the song “Pustiuâ€.
For the moment the band looks to “adopt†a keyboard player and a guitarist.
