Godiva began in 2002 as a wee vintage shop. With the help of a creative collective of fashion design graduates and a want for providing more independent and ethical clothing, Godiva Boutique was born.
We recycle and reinvent vintage fabrics to create one-off hand made garments and limited edition ranges.
Godiva has recently set up a studio in the basement where the designer Rowanjoy spends her days designing and creating. As she lives in the shop this allows her to "make to measured" garments from her collection of sought after designs.
Godiva has become a member and active campaigner to support the organisation Labour Behind the Label, who campaign and build awareness to improve the working condition of workers in factories worldwide and campaign against the international trafficking of people.It is well known now that to lessen your impact on the world today you should buy second-hand vintage and locally hand-made products, even if it costs a little more think of the true cost of cheap clothing, someone pays if it's not you.
We love to recycle and we love to design for the more fashion and consumer conscious people of the world.
