Life IS Art

About Me

The Art Parlour is a collaborative entity in its embryonic stage. Artists and aficionados gather to make art a means of sustaining life. Weekly and monthly gatherings will ensue in RealSpace (Olympia WA USA) and hopefully the evolutions of the project will lead the world to the realization that...
...life is art - accept no imitations!
The Art Parlour is the brainchild of Michael Armenia and his multifaceted communication arts company, AEM Arts Inc. AEM Arts is finding creative ways to sell used books by recycling, redistributing, and redefining literart art. Antiquarian books are being preserved and sold online and offline by AEM Libris and AEM Books.. Century-old novels are being transformed into handbags, cocktail purses, iPod cases and the like. Old dust jackets are appearing in the expression of visual arts projects while their associated books are being donated to charitable causes.
The Art Parlour is also home to fine antiquarian prints, lithographs, and etchings as well as modern works of art. It's home to the obvious: visual artists, musicians, composers, poets, writers...but, there is no end to art. Passionate pursuits of the more subtle discliplines like the culinary arts, healing arts, divination arts are among the worlds explored in the parlour.
The Art Parlour is my office, my studio, my reading room, my business, an art gallery, a performance space...it's my home away from home, and I am opening up my parlour to share inspirations with artists of the world. My definition of an artist is any open minded individual who cares to take a bite, digest and regurgitate some aspect of the cosmos offering different perspectives for others.

My Interests

Many.

I'd like to meet:

Artists. The most obvious are painters, photographers, printers, musicians, composers, poets, writers, singers, dancers, architects, etc. The more subtle but equally aesthetic include: culinary artists (chefs, vintners, bakers, etc.), healing artists, (Reiki practioners, chiropractors, massage therapists, etc.), divination artists (Tarot readers, I-Ching casters, astrologers, etc.)...
Heck...life is art! Thus, if you have life, you are a potential artist.

Heroes:

Self-actualized, other-centered humans who have completely lost any sense of ego.
