Shane West was born as
Shannon Bruce Snaith
on June 10, 1978 in Baton Rouge, Lousiana. Shane got into acting after having to take a drama class in school (he needed that class to graduate & let's all be glad that he did).Shane got his first big acting break when he landed the role of Eli Sammler on TV's Once and Again. Since then he's been in movies such as Liberty Heights (1999), Whatever It Takes (2000) and Get Over It (2001).
His best and most successful movie so far is
A Walk to Remember
(2002) with Mandy Moore. This movie also featured his single "So What Does It All Mean?".He also starred in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2004) and then landed a role on TV's ER as Ray Barnett. He just recently starred in an independent film What We Do Is Secret where he played Darby Crash of the 1970's punk band The Germs. (the movie hasn't been released yet). It's been said that the members of The Germs were so impressed with Shane's performance that they got back together and asked Shane to take Darby's place as singer.
Now Shane West is acting on ER and performing with his band Jonny Was.
